GLENDALE - All lanes of I-43 have been re-opened after a crash on the Milwaukee freeway system that blocked two southbound lanes.

A Milwaukee County Sheriff's spokeswoman told Newsradio 620 WTMJ's Jay Sorgi that the crash involved a motorcycle and two cars.  It happened at about 7:30 a.m. on I-43 southbound near Hampton Avenue in Glendale.

An ambulance took the motorcycle rider to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa after he complained of head and leg pain.

The spokeswoman said he was conscious and and able to speak at the crash scene.

Backups lasted for miles on that part of the freeway system.

As of 8:40 a.m., only the left lane of I-43 southbound was blocked.  At 8:50 a.m., the scene was cleared and all lanes were re-opened.
