Body of missing boater believed to be found
DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) -- Officials say they've recovered a body believed to be that of a man reported missing after he fell from a boat on the Mississippi River in Dubuque.
Authorities say the man fell out of the speeding boat around 6 p.m. Monday, just south of Lock and Dam No. 11. A search for him was suspended late Monday and resumed Tuesday.
The body was found around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, north of the Dubuque-Wisconsin bridge on the Wisconsin side of the river channel. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the Grant County Sheriff's Office are investigating.
The man's name has not been released, and there's been no confirmation that the body is that of the missing boater.
