MILWAUKEE - On a day where Milwaukee and southeastern Wisconsin comes out to enjoy the sunshine associated with Summerfest, people here will have to contend with a heat wave.

Thursday's conditions are expected to be so hot that the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Thursday, 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., for all of southeastern Wisconsin.

"The heat has arrived in southeast Wisconsin for this Wednesday and start to Summerfest," said Storm Team 4Caster Jesse Ritka.

"Under blue skies temperatures will warm to 94 degrees in Milwaukee with strong winds from the SSW at 10-20mph.  That means there won't be much relief from the heat even at the lakefront."

Jesse tells us that the nighttime temperatures will still remain in an area higher than some of the midday highs we saw earlier this week, in the mid-70s.

Then comes Thursday and the heat advisory.

"Thursday will be the hottest day of this heat wave with highs in the mid to upper 90s.  It will feel worse thanks to dew points hovering around 70 degrees, making it feel more like 100-105 degrees during the afternoon and evening hours."

Jesse says a slight cold front will bring some rain Thursday, but not for much of the area.

"What the front will do is drop highs back into the low-90s for Friday and get rid of some of the mugginess," said Jesse.

"The weekend looks to still be hot with high forecast near 90 both days with the best chance for rain on Saturday night and Sunday.

According to Storm Team 4Caster Michael Fish, more sun and heat is on-tap for Friday with highs topping in the upper-80s for our lakefront communities and Milwaukee temperatures and low-90s for Waukesha and inland temperatures.

We will be well into the 80s for the weekend before cooling down by Lake Michigan. There's a better chance of some scattered storms on Sunday.

Stay cool!
