NEILLSVILLE, Wis. - A county road that collapsed and washed away, killing a Milwaukee couple this week in northern Wisconsin, had no warning that it might be wearing-away.

Clark County's emergency management director says there was no sign of fatigue or deterioration on County Road M.

Michelle Hartness says it was just last week when a highway moving crew was there and found no faults.

A 50-foot-wide section of the road collapsed and washed away during a flash flood Wednesday, killing Thomas and Susan Jurceka of Milwaukee, as well as a woman from Thorp.

County Road M is expected to undergo repairs within two to four weeks.
