Wis. Supreme Court to rule in drug lawsuit
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The Wisconsin Supreme Court is set to rule in a case accusing a prescription drug company of inflating prices.
The lawsuit dates back to 2004 when then-Attorney General Peg Lautenschlager sued 36 drug companies alleging they inflated wholesale prices to get larger payments from Medicaid, private insurers and consumers.
One of those companies, Pharmacia, Inc., has appealed a jury verdict that the company violated state law. State attorneys have challenged a court order that reduced the number of violations from the jury's calculations.
An appeals court last year sent the case directly to the Supreme Court saying a ruling will set precedent for pending cases and the high court can provide the most definitive resolution.
