Report: Man posts $1M bail, freed in attempted murder-for-hire case
RIPON - A man from Ripon charged with trying to hire a hit man to kill a former business associated has been freed on $1 million bail.
Lee Stellmacher had been in jail since late March.
Police tell the Fond du Lac Reporter that Stellmacher tried to hire members of a motorcycle gang to kill one man, and an undercover officer to injure another man.
Both men were suing Stellmacher over allegeldy stolen money from a business deal.
