Urgent plea to donate bottled water for Milwaukee's homeless
MILWAUKEE - An organization that assists Milwaukee's homeless says it has an urgent need for donations of bottled water.
Repairers of the Breach asks people to take care of that immediate need and make water donations between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. each day at its location on the 1300 block of West Vliet Street.
"Bottled water is another way we are helping our destitute and homeless members cope with the heat, especially those living in situations where they cannot access drinking water during the night," said MacCanon Brown of Repairers of the Breach in a statement.
The center also said it would appreciate donations of various new or high quality clothing and other items, including but not limited to:
- Clothing such as adult size underwear, t-shirts and jackets, caps and other sun-protecting clothing, socks, athletic shoes (particularly larger sizes), church-appropriate summer clothing, wheeled suitcases, good jeans
- Insect repellent, sun block, first aid cream, hand sanitize, deodorant
