MILWAUKEE- A tow truck driver was targeted by gunmen on Milwaukee's north side Monday.
The driver was nearly hit and he claims the gunmen beat him him, then forced him into their car.
Witnesses told TODAY'S TMJ4 they heard at least three shots come from an alley near N. 53rd and W. Lisbon Ave. But by the time the cops arrived, the truck was filled with bullets, but the driver was nowhere to be found.
Milwaukee police blocked off the surrounding area -- trying to figure out what happened to tow truck.
Just before 10 a.m. several neighbors dialed 9-1-1 after the morning turned violent.
Police discovered most of the bullets hit the driver door of this tow truck. The driver didn't show up again until close to hour later.
The tow truck driver claims three men shot at him, beat him and then forced him into their car.
The tow truck is registered to Guin's Towing on the south side. It's unclear if the driver was working or repossessing a car in the area.
TODAY'S TMJ4 reached out to the towing company, but they did not want to comment. As for police, they have not released a description of the car or suspects -- but they do say they're working to figure exactly what triggered this shooting.
