MILWAUKEE - It was a rainy celebration, but a celebration nonetheless, as volleyball players took to the courts at a renovated Bradford Beach Saturday.

Players were part of three different tournaments at 2400 N. Lincoln Memorial Drive.

Those included the Bradford Beach Volleyball Series with men's and women's sand doubles.

Sunday the beach will see the U.S. Open Junior Beach Volleyball tour's Central Open for ages 12 through 18.

In addition, the National Collegiate Sand Volleball Association's Great Lakes will play there.

New additions to Bradford Beach this year include a restored Beach House with updated bathrooms, a renovated concessions area and enhanced public services such as an overhead foot wash station.

Trolley rides run daily to help ease lakefront traffic.

Bradford Beach is open every day through Labor Day from 11am to 9pm.

Lifeguards are present from 11am to 5pm daily.
