Arrest made in Waukesha hit-and-run
WAUKESHA - Police arrested a man for a hit-and-run crash that left a woman injured and her dog dead, authorities said Friday.
Carlos Ward was taken into custody Thursday night after officers stopped his car. The vehicle matched the description of the car involved in the hit-and-run.
Ward admitted he was involved in the crash but didn't realize the dog had been killed, police said.
The dog "Lexie" helped owner Debbie Schultz with her medical issues.
