2 Edgerton teens safe after missing for two days
EDGERTON- Two Edgerton teens found safe after two days on the run.
A mother overwhelmed with joy that her daughter and her daughter's friend were found safe and sound after two days on the run. 13-year-olds Emma Hansen and Derek Siefken ran away Wednesday afternoon.
"A happy ending that we were praying for last night," said Emma's mother Wendy Hansen-Haines.
It came to an end Thursday when Derek called his father in the middle of a police briefing on the search.
The teens were found by a woman as she walked along her property outside Stoughton. Derek's parents say the two were a couple and Derek has tried sneaking over to Emma's house before, but the two had never done anything like this.
"Having your child missing is the worst feeling i have ever experienced. I wouldn't wish it upon anybody," said Wendy Hansen-Haines.
An emotional rollercoaster that's finally come to an end.
