Death of 91-year-old Wisconsin woman ruled homicide
JANESVILLE- Rock County authorities say the cause of death of a 91-year-old Turtle Township woman has been changed from an apparent accident to a homicide, and they're seeking the public's help in solving the case.
Marjorie Sands was found dead in her home last September. Authorities initially thought she had fallen and struck her head. But detectives say they received information several days later that made them suspicious. Her body was exhumed, and a forensic pathologist found inconsistencies between her injuries and the original ruling of accidental death.
The Rock County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday asked for the public's help in investigating Sands' death. The sheriff's office said information leading to an arrest might qualify for up to a $1,000 reward, and that Sands' family has also offered a cash reward.
