Alleged 'obit burglar' now faces 52 charges

SHEBOYGAN - A man accused of checking obituary records to find out when families would attend funerals, then stealing items from their homes, now faces more than four dozen charges related to those alleged crimes.

According to publicly-accessible court records, Dennis Petrie now faces 52 charges including 38 felonies that include burglary, theft and receiving stolen property.

The Sheboygan Press reports that Petrie faces up to 212 years in prison if he is convicted on all counts.
