Police hold man in Janesville McDonald's melee
JANESVILLE, Wis. (AP) -- Authorities are holding a Madison man following a melee at a McDonald's restaurant in Janesville.
The Wisconsin State Journal says police say the 34-year-old threw a boulder through a window of the McDonald's. Police say he was Tasered five times, pepper sprayed and struck several times with a baton before he was subdued Friday night.
Police also say the suspect punched a police officer who required 11 stitches to his lip. Two other officers received minor injuries. Police say the suspect also incapacitated a police dog by kicking and punching it.
The suspect was taken to the hospital for an existing medical condition. He was being held on suspicion of battery and attempted battery to a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer, harassment of a police animal and vandalism.
