Public expresses mixed opinions about Estabrook Park beer garden
MILWAUKEE - A new attraction at Estabrook Park is drawing a lot of attention.
Some park goers are raving about a new beer garden, but not everyone is happy about it.
Some parents say that just because it used to be a tradition in Milwaukee doesn't mean it's a good idea to have beer where children play.
According to the Milwaukee County parks system, the park offered alcoholic beverages before the days of Prohibition.
The county parks system will benefit from the move, reportedly receiving some of the profits.
The beer garden's owner says the beer garden will operate every day, seven days a week through the end of September, and then after that it will be open on weekends only through November.
