Absentee ballots due in tight Lehman-Wanggaard recall race
RACINE - Absentee ballots were due Friday in the Lehman-Wanggaard State Senate recall race in Racine County.
Unofficial results show that Democrat John Lehman, who previously served Racine as a state senator, beat out incumbent Republican Van Wanggaard by about 800 votes on Tuesday.
Wanggaard beat Lehman in the November 2010 election.
If the race is still close after today's absentee ballot submissions, the losing candidate could ask for a recount.
