31 OWI arrests, 11 lakefront arrests over Memorial Day weekend

MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department says its deputies and other law enforcement officials made 31 drunk driving arrests and issued over the Memorial Day Weekend.

Nine of those arrests came on Milwaukee County freeways.

The department also says it made 11 arrests along the lakefront and in Milwaukee County parks over the same time period between 6:00 a.m. Friday and 10:00 p.m. Monday.

A news release says that Sheriff's deputies issued 100 citations at the lake and in county parks.

The department also said 12 crashes happened on the freeway system over the weekend, while the multijurisdictional task force issued 327 citations.

Besides the Sheriff's Department, that force included law enforcement officers from Milwaukee, Bayside, Brookfield, Town of Brookfield, Elm Grove, Franklin, Greendale, Menomonee Falls, St. Francis, South Milwaukee, Wauwatosa, West Allis Police and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
