Three injured, driver arrested after SUV smashes into Mequon home
MEQUON - Three people have been injured and a driver has been placed in custody for alleged drunk driving after an SUV smashed into a house in Mequon.
TODAY'S TMJ4's Melissa McCrady reports that Flight for Life took one of the victims to a local hospital. A Mequon Police captain told her all three had serious injuries. One of those injured people was listed in critical condition.
The incident happened at about 11:10 p.m. Monday night at a home near the corner of Haddonstone Place and Monterrey.
Police say that the driver of the car lost control. That led to the car going into the front porch, then into the house.
That driver is 23 years old, from Fox Point. He had a 23-year-old man from Cedarburg and a 22-year-old man from Mequon with him.
According to McCrady, the two people inside the home were not hurt. The three injury victims were inside the SUV.
McCrady reports that, according to a preliminary investigation, the three men had gone boating and were drinking all day, then went to some taverns.
Mequon Police tell us that speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
