Marathon runners told to stay home Sunday
MADISON - Weather concerns have promprted officials to cancel Sunday's marathon in Madison.
While the calendar shows May, it may certainly feel more like mid-summer as the temperature rises above 90 degrees Fahrenheit Sunday.
The heat, along with rising humidity decided it could be too dangerous for runners.
Last weekend, a marathon in Green Bay was halted in the middle of the race because of heat and humidity.
About 20 runners were hospitalized.
