Marquette negotiating to play game on U.S. Navy ship
MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University men's basketball team is in negotiations to play a game on a U.S. naval ship.
An athletics department spokesman confirmed to Newsradio 620 WTMJ's Jay Sorgi that Marquette is negotiating with organizers about playing the game on a ship off Charleston, S.C. around Veterans' Day.
ESPN's Andy Katz reports that Ohio State could be the opponent.
The spokesman told Sorgi they are still working out details, but nothing has yet been finalized.
Michigan State and North Carolina played a game in the fall of 2011 on an aircraft carrier based in San Diego.
