Complaint says fight preceded fatal stabbing
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- A criminal complaint filed in Brown County says a Green Bay woman threw knives at her boyfriend during an argument, then picked one up from the floor and fatally stabbed him.
Forty-six-year-old Lois Pilar Velaszquez is being held in jail on $500,000 cash bond. She's charged with first-degree intentional homicide in the death of Derrick House. The 35-year-old man was killed early Sunday morning at their apartment. Police say the couple had been fighting recently over allegations of cheating.
The complaint says Velaszquez physically attacked House, who pushed her away several times. It says Velaszquez started throwing beer cans at House, then began throwing knives before stabbing him.
WLUK-TV (http://bit.ly/IS8ClZ ) says the defendant is scheduled to return to court May 23.
