Rep. Ryan: 'Hey Girl' blog is example of 'reality being stranger than fiction'

MILWAUKEE - A blog featuring humorously-captioned photos of Janesville Republican Representative Paul Ryan, said to be a possible pick for the GOP Vice Presidential slot in 2012, is getting the attention of the congressman.
"This is an example of reality being stranger than fiction," Ryan told Newsradio 620 WTMJ's Charlie Sykes about the "Hey Girl, It's Paul Ryan" blog that spoofs actor Ryan Gosling.
Rep. Ryan says his wife was the first person to reveal the blog to him. Many pictures have to do with economic policy, but one picture entry discusses him and his hobby of catching fish in an interesting way.
"She's the one who showed it to me in the first place, laughing," said Ryan.
"She's not a big fan of me being known for noodling, which is a sport down in Oklahoma where my wife is from. She thinks it has a bit of a hillbilly-esque flavor to it. It's catching a fish with your hand. It's fun, actually. It's a thing they do down in rural Oklahoma where my wife grew up."
