JUNEAU - A female police officer in Juneau suffered non-life threatening injuries when a Ford Explorer hit the back of her squad car late Saturday night.

Police say it happened on West Oak Grove Street in Juneau just after 11 p.m. Saturday. Officer Brittany Borchardt parked on the side of the road when the SUV driven by 41-year-old Chad Buelter of rural Horicon hit the back of her squad.

Buelter then got out of his car and fled the scene on foot.

Three passengers in his SUV weren't hurt.

Dodge County Sheriff's Deputies tracked Buelter using a K9 unit to an area near Lake Sinissippi.

He was taken into custody Sunday morning and booked on charges of hit and run causing injury.

Other charges are pending.

The incident is under investigation.
