MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker's wife, Tonette, is holding the first of several planned listening sessions designed to help children and families dealing with trauma.
She has been working the past year in partnership with a coalition including the state Department of Children and Families and various private organizations.
She plans to share the information in the listening session Thursday in Madison that is designed to improve services the state provides to children and families who have suffered from traumatic events.
Tonette Walker says she hopes the listening session will connect those providing direct care for children, most likely parents, with helpful information.
Other listening sessions are planned in Barron, La Crosse, Milwaukee, Waukesha, Gresham, and Waupaca.
