5:54 a.m.
Most schools are closing, but MPS is open.  They'll have excused absences for kids who don't want to brave the cold.  Ah, an excuse to skip school.

6:08 p.m.
It's now 21 at Radio City.

6:07 p.m.
Latest forecast of gusts from John Malan - 55 miles per hour.  You could drive the speed limit and spit into a side wind and have it go at the same pace at your car.

5:50 p.m.
The temp has dropped to 24 degrees now at Radio City, and Scott Steele fell right before a live shot outside.  John Malan laughed.

5:39 p.m.
Hail fell on Milwaukee's north side, around 40th and Capitol.

5:10 p.m.
Snow's falling at Radio City, and flights are starting to get cancelled at Mitchell International.

5:04 p.m.
It's now 30 degrees at Radio City, as Mick Trevey of Today's TMJ4 shows the ice forming on roads in Waukesha.

5:00 p.m.
Today's TMJ4's Scott Steele is wearing earmuffs outside during his live shot.  He had nothing on top of his head earlier on TV.

4:50 p.m.
Newsradio 620 WTMJ's Dan O'Donnell chimed in, saying it was 22 in Johnson Creek, with really slippery conditions, but no accidents yet.  Apparently people heard he was in Johnson Creek and everyone drove away from him.  (Just kidding, Dan.)

4:31 p.m.
A texter is reporting thunder sleet and lightning in West Bend with heavy winds.  In Elkhart Lake, squads started putting snow chains on their tires.

4:27 p.m.
We've officially hit the freezing mark at Radio City - 32 degrees.  And to think, Phil Cianciola probably wanted to wear shorts this morning.

3:42 p.m.
Ice pellets and hail are falling in Wauwatosa and near the Milwaukee County Zoo.  Not even penguins love this stuff.

3:36 p.m.
A texter reports ice pellets at the zoo, while raods east of Fond Du Lac are starting to get slick.

3:30 p.m.
The near-airport outage is taken care of, but the outage could have - Mitchell says, could have - been caused by lightning.

3:00 p.m.
Unsure if it's related to weather, but power is out near Mitchell International - though not at the airport.  A couple of UPS hangars are out of commission, but Ryan Adams, a spokesman for Mitchell, says that otherwise it's business as usual.  2,000 people are out of power, though, near the airport.

2:25 p.m.
Temperatures have hovered for the past hour around 42 degrees, after temperatures reached 45 at Radio City and 50 in parts of Southeastern Wisconsin.  Milwaukee's DPW says their trucks should be salting the major streets and freeways at this point.
