Marquette basketball outdraws Bucks so far in 2011-12
MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Bucks' average attendance is lower than it has ever been at the Bradley Center, so low that Marquette men's basketball's attendance per game is greater than the Bucks so far this season.
The Journal Sentinel says that with three home games left, attendance for Bucks games has dropped to 14,747 - the lowest average since they moved to the Bradley Center in 1988.
Marquette basketball averaged 15,138 during the 2011-12 campaign.
The paper cites a combination of inconsistent performance, the NBA lockout that truncated the season and the state sports fans' attention to the Green Bay Packers as reasons the Bucks' attendance has dropped so low.
Since 2001, the Bucks outdrew Marquette a majority of times, but MU has had higher per-game attendance many times in recent years.
