Sen. Erpenbach not running in recall, endorses Barrett
MADISON- One of the 14 Democratic state senators who fled to Illinois last year to block Gov. Scott Walker's collective bargaining law has decided against running in the recall race.
Sen. Jon Erpenbach, of Waunakee, instead announced Monday that he is endorsing Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett in the race. Barrett was defeated by Walker in 2010 and announced Friday he was running against him in the recall.
Erpenbach announced his endorsement on Facebook. He says Barrett offers the best chance to defeat Walker.
Three other Democrats have announced they are running in the primary to be decided May 8. They are former Dane County executive Kathleen Falk, Secretary of State Doug La Follette and state Sen. Kathleen Vinehout.
