Milwaukee teachers union proposes pay cuts
MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee teachers union wants to do something unheard of.
They want a pay CUT, not increase.
But, not everyone's on board.
Those who support the cut say IF they take less money, the board should have more money to hire additional teachers AND reduce class size.
On the other side, some teachers say they can't afford to reduce their salary.
The proposal calls for teachers to give up five days of pay, or reduce their salary by a percentage.
The union held a meeting yesterday and plan to hold two additional meetings later this month.
