Small plane makes emergency landing in Mukwonago River; pilot OK
MUKWONAGO- The Waukesha County sheriff's department is investigating after a small plane made an emergency landing in the Mukwonago River near I-43 and the Fox River around 3 p.m. Monday.
The pilot is OK and talking, but suffered cuts and bruises. It is unclear why the pilot had to land in that area.
According to Mukwonago's fire department, the pilot was able to get out of the plane on his own power and a DNR boat picked him up and brought him to land.
The pilot is believed to be in his 50's.
The FAA and Mukwonago police department will handle the investigation.
Booms are being used to contain a small leak of fuel coming from plane.
The plane was still in the water as of late Monday evening.
