MILWAUKEE- Cleared to play, Ryan Braun spent his first moments at spring training addressing his Brewers teammates during a press conference Friday in Maryvale, AZ.

Braun talked about the positive drug test was overturned by an arbitrator.  Braun called into question the chain of custody surrounding the test.

The three person panel ruled 2-1 in favor of Braun because of the questions raised about the manner in which the test sample was handled.  The test collector allegedly first took the urine sample home and stored it in his refrigerator for two days before having it shipped to a laboratory in Montreal.

"There were a lot of things that we heard about the collection process, the collector and some other people involved in the process that have certainly been concerning to us," said Braun.

The ESPN reporter who broke the story back in December, Mark Fainaru-Wada said his sources told him that the sample wasn't tampered with.

Fainaru-Wada joined Wisconsin's Afternoon News to talk about what his sources are hearing about the process and hearing of Braun's appeal.

Fainaru-Wada said that his sources reported that the sample tampering wasn't raised during the appeal hearing.  He suggested that there wasn't any degradation to the sample itself.

He cited ESPN's legal expert Lester Munson who said the sample was sealed three times with tamper-proof seals: one on the box, one on a plastic bag inside the box and again on the vial that contained the urine.

Fainaru-Wada said the dispute raised in the appeal process was whether the sample should have gone to FedEx immediately or allowed to sit in the collector's house.
