Prisoner transport vehicle crashes, 12 injured
VERONA, Wis. (AP) -- Twelve people were taken to hospitals Tuesday after a prisoner transport vehicle crashed on a slippery highway in Dane County.
Verona police say the driver of the vehicle owned by North Atlantic Extradition Services of Columbus, Miss., lost control on Highway 18/151.
Ten prisoners and two security employees were taken to local hospitals. WKOW-TV (http://bit.ly/xlOGjN ) reports none of the injuries are life-threatening. Officers from six area agencies were called in to accompany the prisoners to the hospital.
Westbound lanes of the highway were closed for about two hours.
