MILWAUKEE- The Department of Public Works has released a statement about their role in Thursday's snowfall.
"Since the early morning hours, Department of Public Works deployed ninety-six salt trucks that have continued to salt the City streets throughout the day. The forecast is predicting falling temperatures which will have an impact on street conditions. DPW staff will make adjustments in the amount of salt used to keep the streets safe and continue the efforts as long as needed."
"The forecast is calling for some accumulation during the evening hours. Staff has mounted plow blades on the Department's garbage and recycling packers in case a snow plowing operation is warranted later this evening or in the early morning hours."
"Residents are reminded to follow the winter parking rules. If residents do know what the rules are they can log on the DPW website at www.milwaukee.gov/mpw and go to the parking section or call 414-286-8350, 24 hours a day."
