Prison officer charged with sex assaults involving inmate
JUNEAU - The Dodge County District Attorney's office has charged a state prison officer with three counts of second degree sexual assault of an inmate by a correctional staff member.
Jolene Mason, 31, faces those counts as well as a charge of delivering illegal articles to an inmate.
If she is convicted on all four charges, she could face up to 123 years and six months in prison.
Mason worked at the Waupun Correctional Institute.
According to the criminal complaint, investigators got a letter written by Ms. Robin Miller (an apparent alias of Mason's) to an inmate which said "I love you" and mentioned sex acts between the two of them.
Mason allegedly had an 18-month relationship with that inmate, and the complaint says they engaged in sex acts more than a dozen times between March and May of 2011.
That inmate also said Mason gave him a cell phone, and they communicated through that phone.
The complaint said she also gave food, jewelry, a sex toy and boxer briefs to the inmate.
