Donald Driver: '(Aaron Rodgers) is the MVP and he deserves it'
GREEN BAY- Packers wide receiver Donald Driver joined Wisconsin's Afternoon News with John Mercure on the "Donald Driver Show" to talk about last Sunday's shootout with the Lions as QB Matt Flynn started the game with Aaron Rodgers calling the plays.
Donald Driver was asked about that Lions game and he said, "It was crazy, but it was fun." That game the Packers beat Detroit 45-41 where Lions QB Matthew Stafford and Packers QB Matt Flynn threw for a combined 1,000 yards with 11 TD's.
"You don't want those types of games...but when you can get into a game like that and your backup QB is playing well...it was truly something special," said Driver.
Driver was asked about Matt Flynn's performance. "Week in and week out, Matt was talking about how great he can get the guys to rally behind him." Driver went on to cite Flynn's game against New England last year where the Packers lost, but Flynn kept them in the game against one of the most dangerous teams in the NFL.
The Packers finished the season at an impressive 15-1, but in the words of Donald Driver, "The task is to get back to the Super Bowl again." Driver went on to say that his New Year's goal is win another Super Bowl ring.
With the strong performance of Matt Flynn, some questioned whether Rodgers is that great or it is just the system. "(Aaron Rodgers) is the MVP and he deserves it," said Driver, dispelling that theory.
