WEST ALLIS - Maryann Ostrenga wants to know who killed her older brother, 57-year-old Jeffrey Garnier.

"It's for all of us to feel safe where we are," Ostrenga said. "Someone knows something. Someone has talked to somebody. They should step forward."

Police have a good lead on how Garnier died after an early morning assault on November 20. It shows four people attacking the West Allis man at about 2:30 a.m. It was a short, but deadly assault. It may have been a single punch that took his life. One suspect is seen stealing the victim's wallet.

"Our investigators have been working day and night on this case, working extremely hard and progress is being made," said Lt. Chad Evenson. "Additional tips are coming in."

Police say the attackers may have escaped in a white or light colored compact car. Family members have put together an additional $8,000 dollars in reward money, meaning a total of $10,000 is now offered for information leading to an arrest and charges.

"Words cannot even express how they left him, what they did to him," Ostrenga said. Anyone with information is urged to call the West Allis Police Department at 414-302-8000 or West Allis Crime Stoppers at 414-476-CASH (2274).
