Man who filed Governor Walker recall documents donated to Walker campaign
MADISON- According to a document on the Government Accountability Board's website, David Brandt donated to Governor Walker's 2010 pre-election campaign.
Brandt filed paperwork Friday with state elections officials, asking to recall Gov. Scott Walker .
He listed the political committee, "Close Friends To Recall Walker" as the political group that submitted the paperwork to the Government Accountability Board on Friday.
Brandt is the Treasurer of that group has filed the paperwork from the municipality of Muskego in Waukesha County.
"Any committee than plans to mount a recall effort, needs to register with the Government Accountability Board for their own effort," said Reid Magney, a spokesperson with the GAB told Newsradio 620 WTMJ
Magney then told Newsradio 620 WTMJ, "We understand there is a larger group that plans to get underway November 15th, this filing does not effect that group, however by this filing it opens the window in which Governor Walker can raise unlimited funds."
The State Democratic Party's official recall plan is starting its effort on November 15th.
Friday is the first possible date of the recall. To succeed in forcing a recall election of the Republican governor, organizers must gather 540,000 signatures in 60 days.
