Occupy Milwaukee takes to the streets
MILWAUKEE - Unions and community groups fashioning themselves after the "Occupy Wall Street" protests converged on Milwaukee, as planned, Saturday afternoon.
The demonstration named, "Occupy Milwaukee" met at Zeidler Park, then marched over to Chase Bank and Wells Fargo.
"People are frustrated. They want to be heard, and they want to get their message across," said organizer Khalil Coleman.
They held a banner which read, "Occupy Milwaukee, we are the 99 percent. Take the money out of politics."
Police were on hand throughout the event. Chief Ed Flynn told TODAY'S TMJ4 that the crowd was very intent on conveying their message; but also orderly. The department reports no major issues with demonstrators.
