'Why do I pay taxes, when they didn't save my son?'
MILWAUKEE- 19-year-old Nathan Potter was killed on Milwaukee's east side in July 2009 as he walked to his Riverwest apartment.
9-1-1 tapes indicate that neighbors called the police department 40 minutes before Potter was gunned down to warn of sketchy characters hanging out and looking for trouble.
The 9-1-1 callers were blown off. Police never showed up until after Nathan Potter was dead. Nathan's parents John and Denise spoke to me recently.
The Potter family owns multiple properties in Milwaukee. They pay more than $20,000 in property taxes annually. And John Potter is embarrassed and outraged that those taxes apparently couldn't do anything to save his son. Here is what he told me recently.
