MADISON- A spokesman for the Wisconsin Democratic Party says more recalls of Republican state senators are planned for next year.

Spokesman Graeme Zielinski said Thursday that an undetermined number of Republican lawmakers are likely to be targeted for recall at the same time as Gov. Scott Walker.

Republicans currently hold a 17-16 majority in the Senate following recalls this summer in which Democrats ousted two Republican incumbents.

Zielinski declined to say which of the 17 incumbents would be targeted or how many.

Republican Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that Democrats, including Minority Leader Mark Miller of Monona, may also be targeted.

Three Democrats survived recalls this summer.

It would take between 15,000 and 20,000 signatures to force a recall election for senators.
