Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn's view on response times
MILWAUKEE- Back in January 2008, Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn released a statement saying, "We shall reduce the levels of fear, crime and disorder in the city of Milwaukee....Our measure of success will not be our response times to non-emergency calls. Our measure of success will be the reduction of crime, fear and disorder in Milwaukee."
In the Milwaukee Police Department documents labeled "Response Times & Proactive Policing," they have a section on response times.
That section states that police response time research has shown that there is no correlation between response times and reductions in crime.
