Waukesha County mother in court Thursday for sexual assault of a child
WAUKESHA - A Waukesha County mother accused of sexually assaulting a 13 year old boy was in court Thursday.
24-year-old Brittany Barcus faces three counts of sexual assault.
Investigators allege Barcus repeatedly assaulted a 13 year old boy in 2010.
Court Commissioner Laura Florian Lau allowed Barcus to be released on a $100,000 signature bond, co-signed by the woman's mother.
Barcus' attorney claims his client is innocent. Ted Mazza maintains Barcus never assaulted the teen, and was simply spending time with a boy in need.
"Give me the opportunity to cross-examine and examine those witnesses, and see whether or not they're credible. It's my sincere belief they're not," Mazza explained.
