FRANKLIN -- Three people are taken to area hospitals after a teen led police on a high-speed chase.  The teen stole a car, then lost control of it and crashed head-on into another vehicle.

Seargent Russell Crissey with the Franklin Police Department explains that the crash is the end in a series of problems with the teen:  "It all happened in Racine first.  The gentleman, the 16-year-old, was being transported to a group home, then jumped out of the vehicle on the freeway; and then came into our city and then stole the vehicle."

Police tried to make a traffic stop on the vehicle after noticing that it didn't have proper license plates.  The driver pulled over near the intersection of 27th Street and Puetz Rd., but then took off.

Shortly afterward, the driver lost control and hit another car head-on.

One person was transported to a hospital by Flight for Life.  Two others were taken for treatment of minor injuries.
