Settlement in Sheboygan mayor lawsuit
SHEBOYGAN - The city of Sheboygan has paid a six-figure settlement in a lawsuit against Mayor Bob Ryan.
According to the Sheboygan Press, former human resources director Angela Payne will receive $310,000.
Payne accused Ryan of making "drunken, sexual advances" against her.
The city's insurance company paid the settlement, which happened a week after Ryan admitted to a three-day drinking binge in Elkhart Lake.
Common Council members are trying to remove Ryan from office for his problems with alcohol.
The council could hire a special prosecutor as early as Thursday night. Members have been interviewing potential candidates, including former Waukesha County District Attorney Paul Bucher.
