PARIS - A family dream, over sixty years old, is now a reality.  Finally, Mars' Cheese Castle sits in a castle.

No matter which way you cut it, cheese is a Wisconsin staple.

Nobody knows that better than the folks at Mars' Cheese Castle.

"My mother and father started it in 1947," owner Mario Ventura explained. "They envisioned a castle someday."

The Cheese Palace just got a major makeover. The new cheese castle is 24,000 square feet and includes a bar, deli, gift shop and bakery.

Wisconsin native Dan Glomski pays a visit every time he's back in town from Ohio.

"We usually have a standing request to bring back kringle home for everybody," Glomski explained.

The I-94 highway expansion was the reason for the new building. Although, even the owners and customers admit it was time for an upgrade.

"When the state decided to expand the road we thought this would be a good time for a castle, " Ventura explained.

The "official" grand opening event is planned for later this month.  The new store is now open for business.
