MILWAUKEE (AP) -- State officials want to make sure that football fans who are drinking during the Super Bowl get home safely after the game.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says Packers fans across the state will be drinking at parties before, during and after the game. The DOT encourages those revelers to be safe by planning ahead.
The department offers these tips:
-- If you're hosting a party, serve lots of food and provide non-alcoholic beverages. Don't let your guests drive home if they're impaired.
-- Don't serve any alcohol to people under the age of 21. They could face strict penalties if they're pulled over and they test positive for alcohol.
-- Don't drink on an empty stomach, and pace your consumption.
-- Make sure you have a designated driver.
