ATLANTA, Tex. - The population in Atlanta, Texas is fewer than 6,000 people.  It's interesting that if you didn't know hometown boy and Packers general manager Ted Thompson growing up, you probably didn't know this small town's connections to the biggest of football games.

"My mother was his counselor," said Tammy Tigert, whose older brother played football with Ted.

"She thought the world of him.  We're real proud of Ted."

TODAY'S TMJ4's Vince Vitrano caught up with Tammy at the McDonald's where the small, but enthusiastic Packers fan club meets.

"We go about as far as you can go back," said Steve Little, who played basketball with Ted, a standout in every sport.

"Especially to be in a position like he is, with a shot at the Super Bowl, I think that's probably the ultimate."

Thompson also played college football at SMU, in Dallas, and with the Houston Oilers for 10 years in the NFL.
