4,800 We Energies Customers Out of Power
MILWAUKEE - A We Energies spokesman said that as of around 9 Tuesday evening, 4,800 customers have lost power as a result of the wind storm in SE Wisconsin.
That's down from as high as 16,000 at one point during the day.
Spokesman Brian Manthey says restoring the lights is a chase. As soon as some outages are restored, others come in. So at this point, they're winning the fight.
There is one bigger outage in Waukesha County, but other than that, Manthey says the outages are scattered, 100 here, 100 there. That's actually bad news because it will take longer for crews to get all the lights back on.
One of the biggest problems for crews restoring the lights has been debris blowing around.
Manthey reminds people to stay away from downed power lines. You can get eletrocuted simply by getting near it.
To report an outage: call 1-800-662-4797.
