KENOSHA - Authorities were able to peacefully get a 44-year-old woman out of her home in Kenosha after a 7-hour standoff Monday.

Officers responded to the house in the 3700 block of 22nd Avenue after the woman waived a gun in the air and threatened to kill herself.  She then fired a round through a window when an officer knocked at the door, according to police.

The area was blocked off for about 7 hours as communications continued between authorities and the suspect but she came out peacefully and was taken into custody without incident.

The case is still under investigation and will be sent to the Kenosha County District Attorney's Office for potential charges.
