PLYMOUTH - A man has died after being shot outside a tavern in Plymouth, and the Sheboygan County Sheriff's Department says that a man has been arrested for the shooting.

Someone informed authorities at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday evening, saying that shots were fired at Racer's Hall on County Road C in Plymouth.

"The victim had been shot multiple times," said Sheboygan County Sheriff's Captain David Adams.

"A deputy located a 63-year-old male being held down on the deck by a male individual, and also observed a 31-year-old male that was deceased by multiple gun shot wounds."

Witnesses say that a political argument led to the shooting, but a close friend of the victim disputes that.

According to investigators, the victim was from Cascade, and the man who was arrested is from Glenbeulah.

The suspect was treated for his injuries, and is now being held at the Sheboygan County Detention Center.

About 15 to 20 people were in the bar at the time, according to the bar's owner.

He explained that the alleged shooter was the president of the tavern's pool league.

Now, he sits in jail on a possible charge of first degree intentional homicide.

The bar owner who wasn't there during the shooting explained that he was shocked to hear the news, and he called the suspect a "good guy."

According to authorities, no murders have happened in Plymouth in about 15 years.
