SHEBOYGAN - Two different sheriff's departments are trying to figure out how someone shot a deputy, using the deputy's own gun.

Anthony Blodgett is a deputy with the Sheboygan County Sheriff's Department.

At about 1:30 in the morning on August 7th, someone shot him at a social event in Forest County, and they used a weapon that Blodgett personally owns, not a Sheriff's Department weapon.

Blodgett was off duty when it happened.

The Sheboygan Press says he's at home on leave to recover from his injuries.

Sheriff Mike Helmke didn't say how bad Blodgett was hurt.

Both Sheboygan and Forest County officials are looking into the shooting.
